WORLD RECORD

The Underwater Studio was host to an unusual event on Wednesday The 1st April. NO it is not an April Fools Day joke. Adventures in Diving from Chelmsford in Essex organised a world Record Attempt with 114 Scuba Divers Underwater watching the England v Ukraine football match.

It was all in aid of charity with money from divers sponsorship going to the RNLI and Martin and Sue Essex Fm Kids appeal.  The underwater Studio's main diving contractor S.W.S. Marine Services rigged the underwater stage with scaffolding to provide tired seating to enable all the divers to be able to view the two TVs provided by Tesco's which were placed in the camera well against the windows. Divers from S.W.S., James Howell, Stuart Grosse and Ted Lester then provided safety for the underwater Camera Crews from Reuters & Ocean Optics who filmed and photographed the event. They also looked after Martin Day from Essex FM who did a piece for Essex FM radio
